StatusQueen's Sentence case tool capitalises the first letter of each sentence and lowercases the rest — the standard form for paragraphs, articles, blog posts, emails, and most body copy. A sentence ends at . ! or ? followed by whitespace.
How sentence detection works
The first non-space character is capitalised. After every . ! or ? followed by whitespace, the next letter is capitalised again. Everything else is lowercased. Quotation marks, parentheses and other punctuation are preserved.
Advanced options
- Preserve acronyms — runs of 3+ uppercase letters (NASA, USA, IBM) stay uppercase even after sentence-casing.
- Keep URLs and emails as-is — leaves URLs and email addresses untouched.
- Process each line independently — treats every line as a fresh sentence start. Ideal for line-separated lists where each item should begin with a capital.
