StatusQueen's Split PDF tool slices a single PDF into smaller PDFs three different ways: by page Range, by individual Pages, or by file Size. Pages stay bit-identical to the source — no re-rendering, no quality loss, no watermark, no sign-up.
How to split a PDF
- Drop your
.pdffile into the upload area, or click choose file. - Wait a couple of seconds while we render thumbnails of every page.
- Pick a tab — Range, Pages, or Size — and configure your split.
- Click Split PDF. The result downloads as a single PDF or a ZIP, depending on how many output files you produced.
The three split modes
- Range — extract one or more page ranges. Use Custom mode for ranges like "1-3, 5, 7-10" (one PDF per range), or Fixed mode to break the document into chunks of N consecutive pages each. There's also a "Merge all ranges back into one PDF" toggle if you want a single output that strings the ranges together in order.
- Pages — pick individual pages and extract each as its own one-page PDF. Toggle between "Extract all pages" (every page becomes a separate PDF) or "Select pages" (click any thumbnail to deselect). Useful for grabbing only the pages you need.
- Size — splits the PDF into chunks no larger than a chosen file size in KB or MB. The splitter walks page-by-page, growing each chunk until adding the next page would push it over the limit. Optionally allow re-encoding to compress harder if needed.
What gets preserved
- Original quality. Page-level extraction means no re-rendering — every output page is bit-identical to the source.
- Hyperlinks. Both internal cross-references and external web links survive the split.
- Embedded fonts. Custom fonts in the source PDF carry through to every output PDF.
- Page sizes. Mixed A4 / Letter / custom page sizes all keep their original dimensions.
- Searchable text. Text-based PDFs stay searchable and copy-pasteable.
Limitations
- Password-protected PDFs are rejected. Run them through our Unlock PDF tool first.
- 50 MB and 200 pages max per upload. For bigger PDFs, compress first or split in two passes.
- Form fields don't survive cleanly if you split a page with a form field into one chunk and a related field into another. Best to flatten forms first.
Privacy and security
PDFs are uploaded over HTTPS, processed on our server and removed automatically after five minutes — or immediately when you click Delete file from server on the result screen.
